Why were we created? Only and solely to be Allah's ‘servants’ and to ‘serve’ Him. But how is this possible? What is the way, the method?
Allah the Almighty has shown humanity the way and the method through the books He sent, beginning with Adam, the first human and the first prophet. He ensured that these books were understood and applied in accordance with His will by sending prophets, and He placed them before all humanity as leaders, guides, models, and mentors.
The Book and the Prophet are presented as two parts of a whole. With the final Book, the Noble Quran, and the final Prophet, Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him), the rulings of all previous books have been abrogated, and the sharia of all previous prophets has come to an end.
With the advent of our Prophet (sas), the Age of Muhammad began in the world. Now all of humanity must accept the final religion he brought and follow it. All other religions, paths, and beliefs are false and invalid.
The words, statements, his character and conduct have been transmitted in minute detail, with meticulous understanding, without addition or omission, by his noble companions who were educated by him. These teachings have been passed down to the present day by the learned and wise, sincere, devoted, and pure Muslims of subsequent generations, after being subjected to the necessary criticism and scrutiny.
This magnificent and immense collection of hadiths, especially the Qur'an, has not remained a mere act of transmission, but has been accepted as a way of life by the generations mentioned above, who perceived every word and sentence as addressing them personally.
This book is a selection from the Qur'an verses commentary and especially the hadith explanations of the late M. Es'ad Coşan Hocaefendi, selected from his commentary on the verses of the Qur'an and especially his commentary on the Hadith. It presents the unity and indivisibility of the Qur'an and the Hadith, highlighting the value and importance of the Sunnah in the path of becoming a ‘servant’ and a ‘community,’ through a new systematic presentation of his speeches in written form.
