[Simplified Full Text]
Hacı Bektâş-ı Velî's work entitled Makâlât is a book that, despite its long-standing existence, has not been given the recognition it deserves. Its nature and content have either been poorly studied or, despite being studied, the topics it addresses have been deliberately kept from the public, resulting in superficial treatment. However, this work is of great importance for gaining a close and accurate understanding of Hacı Bektâş-ı Velî's true identity, ideas, and personality.
M. Es'ad Coşan Hocaefendi, as a researcher of religious literature, took up the work Makâlât-ı Hacı Bektaş, which he believed had not been sufficiently researched and studied up to his time, and examined it with great care. He approached this subject not from published, well-known and frequently used sources, but by conducting research among manuscripts hidden away in libraries.
We are presenting this important work, which is a different type of Turkish-Islamic literature, as a ‘Simplified Full Text’ for the benefit of the academic world and a wide and diverse audience of enthusiasts.
